Pear Tree Barkwood Slab Cuts

ONE FLAT SIDE - ONE PREDOMINANTLY BARK SIDE

You don’t always see Pear tree wood in the normal retail channels. The story of this specific tree is another urban reclamation from Snohomish County, WA. Planted as a decorative tree when it was small, it became too large for the new home owner and a danger to her home. The physical process of getting this out of her yard was very challenging and I thank the homeowner and her family for their patience with the removal. The grain profile is unique and should finish out well once completely dried. Cut with a bandsaw mill which was probably too small for this log so some of the surfaces show waves or marks from the difficultly we had milling this, will plane or sound out easily once fully dry. Currently air dried to about 25% MC.
